Laminate flooring for bedrooms and living rooms: how to choose the colour

In bedrooms and living rooms, floating laminate is a practical choice: it is laid without glue, easy to clean, and our 8 mm floors (AC4 / Class 32) are suitable for underfloor heating. The hardest decision is usually the colour.

Medium tone — Caucasus Oak 709 (Modern Series)

A natural medium-tone oak with grooved edges that mark each plank. It works well in bedrooms and mid-sized rooms, with light walls and wood or white furniture.

Dark tone — Gediz Oak 716 (Classic Series)

A deep, dark tone with a continuous surface and no grooved edges. It gives character to large living rooms and offices, especially with good natural light.

Three simple rules

  1. Light: rooms with little light suit medium tones; dark tones shine in bright spaces.
  2. Size: in a small bedroom, a medium tone helps the room feel larger.
  3. Continuity: the same floor in bedroom, living room and hallway ties the home together.

Kitchen and bathroom?

For wet areas we recommend SPC vinyl flooring, which is 100% waterproof. See our article on flooring for kitchens and bathrooms.
